The nature reserve gathers a rich but fragile natural heritage on 56 hectares of land. Its environment includes the riversides, low and high guarrigues made of holm oaks, masses of fallen rocks, cliffs and ledges with quite a steep relief, as well as numerous caves. The historical data on the avifauna mention the presence of the golden eagle and of the Bonelli's eagle, but the actuel guests of the reserve are the peregrine falcon, the wallcreeper, the Eurasian crag martin, the Eurasian eagle-owl and manifold passerines. The nature reserve also shelters a population of bats (great horseshoe bat, Mediterranean horseshoe bat, common bent-wing bat, long-fingered bat). The 'Orchis géant', the gagea pratensis, the colchicum longifolium or the cistus populifolius are also to be found there.
