A journey into the prestigious sericultural past of the Cévennes, where silk was the main industry until the last world war.
Come and discover the secrets of silkworm rearing, the machines from the industrial heritage of the Cévennes and all the stages of the manufacture of sumptuous fabrics.
The Silk Museum offers you the discovery of a breeding, maintained at all stages of the cycle (from April to October) in a reconstructed silkworm nursery. Guided tours are offered and an archive film on silk production completes the visit in the video room.
For children, a specially designed guide, a video and activities are reserved for them in a discovery area.
Every year a new exhibition on textiles enriches the visit and allows you to discover the contemporary creations of an artist.
The shop hosts the "Soieries des Cévennes" sales area and also offers original creations by local craftsmen.
