A medicinal plants cultivation which was founded in 1995 by Marie d'Hennezel in the Meridional Cevennes, in the Mazet domain, resulted in the "Jardins de Mazet". They are open since 2011 and have received the "Jardin Remarquable" certification label in 2012 by the Ministry of Culture. The "Jardins de Mazet" benefit from a remarkably beautiful environment, including the view which permanently embellishes the path in itself, and the site, occupied since a very long time, still has interesting historical elements: the Provencal farmhouse, the magnanery and the chestnut dryer date back to the XVII° century. A cedar of Lebanon, which is to be remarked thanks to its dimensions, considered to be the most beautiful one of the Gard department by the specialists, would have been offered by Louis XIV to one of his officers living in the Mazet. The "Jardins de Mazet" extend on a ten hectares area.
