Built in the Middle Ages, Saint-Etienne-d'Issensac's bridge steps over the Herault river, and it allowed the pilgrims to continue their journey towards Saint Guilhem le Désert, which is a step on the Way of Saint James. Built as a humpback bridge, it still has three of its five original archs. During the Ancient Régime, Saint-Etienne-d'Issensac was a parish of approximately 70 inhabitants, constituted of several farm building. It is listed as historical monument since 1948. It is a swimming area during summertime.
