LAROQUE VILLAGE MEDIEVAL

Laroque is a fortified medieval village built on a rocky peak, on the way out of the Gorges de l'Hérault. It is a strategic site, located at the end of the Languedoc plain and opening onto the Cévennes, that allows the complete circular observation of the entire hinterland from its donjon (27 m).
That is the reason why it has always been a lively place, from prehistory to nowadays, adapting the advantages of its situation to each step of civilization's evolution.
