COL DE LA PIERRE PLANTÉE

The seven menhirs that are on the municipality's territory testify to a human presence at the end of the Neolithic Era (about 9 000 to 3 300 years before J.C.). They are often to be found on the pathsides, on the transhumance's route, in a pass. The best known is the 'Menhir de la Pierre Plantée' ('the Planted Rock's Menhir'), which was probably brung from far away, because its rock does not match the rock of the place it is planted in.
