The Monitors of the Vallée de l'Hérault invite you to join them and experience an unforgettable adventure above the Hérault Gorges, not far from Montpellier. Our route is a man-made one that crosses the limestone rocks of the Massif du Thaurac, which is located between the Gard and the Hérault on the doorstep of the Cévennes.
Via ferrata is a Latin expression that means "iron road". Such routes were once used by the Italian army to make it over the inaccessible mountain passes of the Alps.
Today this activity has become a bit of a craze amongst the general public and is being developed in many places. Ledges with fixed anchors, ladders attached to sheer cliff faces, cable crossings, zip lines and mini abseils, net and rope bridges... Come in small groups and share an original experience.
